Weâre shining a light on the people behind the work. Our Consultant Spotlight series on our website gives you a closer look at our team, their approach, what drives them, and the experience they bring to both clients and candidates.
This month, we hear from Emma Brotherton in Eastleigh, sharing her perspective on recruitment, what sets her apart, and what she enjoys most about the role.
How would you describe your approach to recruitment in three words?
Passionate. Approachable. Honest.
What makes your service different from other consultants?
Iâm a relationship builder. I meet all my candidates face-to-face and take time to understand the person behind the CV so I can represent them fully.
What part of your job do you genuinely enjoy the most?
Meeting clients! I love learning about their business and needs and of course, getting new roles on board.
Whatâs one thing candidates are often surprised to learn about working with you?
I really get to know themâhow they tick. I earn their trust and respect.
Behind the Scenes
What does a âtypicalâ day look like for you?
No two days are the same! Filling roles, candidate and client conversations, registering new candidates, meetings, payroll, new business intros (I love a chat and a flyer!), and admin, whatever needs doing! đ
Whatâs one part of the job people donât realise recruiters do?
Itâs an ongoing process. We donât just place someone and move onâwe support them throughout their time in the role. Some of my temps have been with me on and off for 10 years (and clients too!).
Whatâs the most rewarding placement youâve made and why?
Honestly, theyâre all rewarding in their own way. I still get the same buzz I had 25 years ago when I help someone land a job!
Whatâs your favourite success story?
A fabulous candidate walked in on the off chanceâsenior level. I booked her for a 3-day temp role, and now sheâs in an executive position within that company. With some gentle âspeccing,â she got the role she truly deserved!
