Meridian have been one of our preferred suppliers since 2011 and during this time they have assisted us with Mechanical & Electrical tradesmen, Site Supervisors and semi-skilled operatives across the North West. Meridian listen and understand to our requirements and the labour provided across numerous projects has always been to a high standard. Our main point of contact at Meridian is Mark Wilcock and we’ve always received a good service; any issues are dealt with in a timely manner and his knowledge and understanding of the market is first class. Many recruitment consultants jump on the bandwagon, seeing an easy buck in a seriously resource-constrained market with relatively mobile candidates. Fred Ewing at Meridian is the only recruitment consultant that I know who truly understands the profession. Fred has taken a genuine interest in what makes transport planning and transport planners tick so that he can speak our language with confidence. He stays up to date with new developments in our field, both technical and political. He appreciates the nuances between strategic transport models and microsimulation (to mention some of our jargon) so that I can be sure that a proposed candidate will both have the relevant skills and an appetite for career growth and a long-term commitment to my team and business.
We have been using Meridian for around two years now and have always found their staff to be flexible, well trained and prepared for the role. Alpla have been partnering with Meridian for over 15 years. Meridian have provided a predominately temporary solution for Alpla over these years but more recently they have supported with the permanent delivery as the market has changed. Alpla initially required 8 Packing Operatives at a brand new site of ours which was extended to our Head Office site for a further 9 Operatives, and engaged with Meridian to recruit these on a permanent basis rather than our historical approach of temp to perm due to the current shortage of quality candidates available in the market place. Meridian’s National Recruitment Centre have a team of dedicated recruiters that were able to implement this project at short notice for us resulting in 17 hires within 2 weeks. All candidates were fully compliant prior to attending interview and offered a role the same day with Meridian ensuring start dates were communicated effectively ensuring a full turn out on day 1 of their employment with us. We are so pleased with the delivery of this project that we continue to use Meridian with more volume permanent hires due to the quality and speed of their process. I didn’t have much confidence in Recruitment Agencies, as I found that they promised everything and delivered nothing. Tom from Meridian's Cheltenham branch is so very different; from the first telephone conversation with him I felt that this was the person who could help me find that perfect Deputy, and he did!
