Our client, based in Yeovil (BA20), have an exciting opportunity for a Production Controller and are seeking an experienced individual to work in Transmissions Manufacturing. This is a full-time temporary position working 37 hours per week until June 2026 with the possibility of extension.
Shift patterns:
Early shift
Monday to Thursday 0600 – 1400
Friday 0600 – 1200
Late shift
Monday to Thursday 1400 – 2200
Friday 1200 to 1800
Main Purpose:
Working for the Transmissions Manufacturing Manager covering all aspects of material; supply to support the manufacturing and assembly shops, ensuring on time delivery of components. Working proactively to ensure the manufacture shops has all the parts available, at the right time, in line with the master production plan. Work with other departments to ensure effective material; flow to enable achievement of the business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Production Order Management
- Generate statistics/reports for manufacturing shop
- Update production order status/comments
- Run shortage reviews with other departments to expedite and prioritise parts and review forecasts against requirements
- Identify any risk associated with shortages or deliveries and escalate as appropriate
- Load all outgoing work on the offload rail and prioritise
- Resolve issues with offload including paperwork amendments
What you need:
- I-INC in a relevant discipline is desirable
- Sound educational background with demonstrated competency through work experience
- Integrity and professional approach
- Team worker who is customer focused
- Knowledge of company quality system
- Computer literate, especially with the use of excel
- Working knowledge of SAP within material management and production planning modules
- Understanding of manufacturing process and overview of MRP
