Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals
- Plan and develop menus that meet nutritional and dietary requirements
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety and food hygiene regulations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Train, supervise, and support kitchen staff
- Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance resident satisfaction
- Manage time effectively to ensure efficient kitchen operations
Skills and Attributes
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a similar setting
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary needs, and food safety standards
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment
- Effective time management and ability to work under pressure
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures
- Experience in training and developing kitchen staff
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
Education and Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Catering or equivalent qualification (desirable)
