Facilities Manager – Hard & Soft Services FM
Are you an experienced Facilities Manager who is ready to feel valued, trusted, and recognised for the work you do?
Meridian is recruiting for a Senior Facilities Manager to lead FM delivery for a prestigious client at Gloucester Business Park.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong hard and soft services FM experience. You will lead a team of engineers and oversee a large onsite support team, including cleaners, reception staff, grounds people, handy people, and floor champions, while making sure the client receives a reliable, professional, and customer-focused service every day.

What you’ll be doing
Leading hard and soft services
Take ownership of day-to-day FM delivery across both technical and non-technical services.
Lead engineers and coordinate support teams so the site runs smoothly, safely, and professionally.
Oversee services including cleaning, reception, grounds, handyman tasks, floor support, planned maintenance, and reactive works.
Creating a great customer experience
Be the main FM contact for the client, building strong relationships and responding quickly to priorities.
Make sure service standards, KPIs, and SLAs are achieved without losing sight of the customer experience.
Find practical ways to improve how services are delivered, making things simpler, smarter, and more effective.
Leading and developing people
Lead, motivate, and support a diverse onsite team, helping people understand expectations and take pride in their work.
Create a positive, accountable culture across engineers, cleaners, reception, grounds, handy people, and floor champions.
Coach teams, solve day-to-day issues, and keep communication clear across all service lines.
Keeping the site safe and compliant
Champion a safety-first approach across all FM activity.
Ensure health, safety, environmental, statutory, and compliance standards are met.
Spot risks early, challenge unsafe behaviours, and promote safe working practices.
Managing budgets and performance
Manage the FM budget and keep control of costs, WIP, debt, margin, and P&L performance.
Deliver services within agreed commercial targets while keeping operational standards high.
Report clearly on performance and use data to support better decisions.
Supporting projects and improvement
Lead FM-related projects from planning through to delivery.
Keep projects on track, on budget, and aligned with client and business expectations.
What we’re looking for
A strong background in both hard and soft services FM.
Experience leading engineers and managing large onsite support teams.
Facilities management (technical and non-technical services).
A calm, practical leadership style with the ability to bring different teams together.
A genuine focus on excellent customer service and strong client relationships.
Good commercial awareness, including budgets, cost control, reporting, and contract performance.
A solid understanding of health and safety, compliance, planned maintenance, reactive works, KPIs, and SLAs.
