My client are looking for a motivated and organised individual to join a busy manufacturing environment as a Trainee Production Planner. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with administrative or coordination experience in engineering or manufacturing who is looking to develop a career in production planning.
You’ll receive full training and support while working closely with experienced planners, purchasing, and operations teams to help ensure production runs smoothly and customer deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning team with scheduling production activities
- Assist in raising and managing works orders
- Update and maintain data within the MRP/ERP system
- Help monitor material availability and flag shortages
- Liaise with internal departments including Purchasing, Engineering, and Production
- Assist with expediting materials to keep production on track
- Maintain accurate records of production schedules and updates
- Provide administrative support for planning and operations meetings
- Help track KPIs and planning performance
- Support continuous improvement activities within the planning function
- Previous experience in an administrative or coordination role (ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or production)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- An interest in manufacturing, supply chain, or production planning
- Exposure to MRP/ERP systems would be beneficial but not essential
- Eager to learn and develop new skills
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive and willing to take initiative
- Positive, can-do attitude
