Trainee Office Administrator

Our client, a leading local engineering company based in Tewkesbury, is looking for a Trainee Office Administrator to join their team.

This is a newly created Trainee Office Administrator role which will suit you if you already have some experience of working as an office administrator and you’re looking to develop your skills, or if you already have some basic office administration skills and you’re looking to begin your professional office administration career with a growing, reputable company where very good training opportunities will be made available for your development.

Location: Tewkesbury
Working hours: 39 hour working week, day shift, finishing at lunch time on Fridays.
Pay rate: We’re looking to pay between £25,800 and £27,500 depending on experience.

Your day to day duties as Trainee Office Administrator will cover a range of duties:
Assisting with general administrative duties including:
  • filing;
  • data entry;
  • photocopying;
  • maintaining stationery supplies and
  • managing correspondence.
Providing support within the team including:
  • welcoming visitors;
  • answering the telephone in a friendly and professional manner;
  • speaking with customers and suppliers and
  • taking messages.
This role will give you a good grounding of all round office administrative support functions and your duties are likely to evolve as you gain a greater understanding of how the company office works.
A few of the skills we would like you to have:
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the capability to become proficient
  • Basic knowledge of email and internet use.
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment (phone, PC, photocopier, scanner, shredder etc).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
Your personal qualities:
  • Good attention to detail, taking pride in your work.
  • A positive attitude and a team-orientated mindset.
  • Polite, professional, willing to learn, self-motivated, driven and committed.
  • A good communicator with a very good telephone manner.
  • An interest in learning and self-development.
  • The ability to work as part of a team but also be able to use your own initiative.

  • A proactive approach to dealing with tasks.
