Meridian Business Support is recruiting for a Test Engineer to work for one of prestigious, state of the art, Manufacturing clients.
The role will include providing first class customer service to prospective and existing clients.
About the Role:
As a Test Engineer, you will be testing products, diagnosing faults and will be capable of implementing, developing and improving manufacturing test strategies using standard tools and methodologies.
Main responsibilities:
Hours: 39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday – 7am to 4pm or 7.45am to 4.45pm
Friday – 7am to 12pm or 7.45am to 12.45pm
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Holidays: 20 days plus Bank Holidays

About the Role:
As a Test Engineer, you will be testing products, diagnosing faults and will be capable of implementing, developing and improving manufacturing test strategies using standard tools and methodologies.
Main responsibilities:
- To test printed circuit boards and unit assemblies with diagnosis of complex faults at circuit board, unit and system level. (This will include voltages up to 20kV)
- To diagnose test failures from the above – down to PCBA and component level.
- To help develop new test equipment and methodologies where required in line with our New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
- To assist in the selection of new test equipment.
- To assist in improving test processes.
- To assist with test issues within manufacturing where necessary.
- To provide cost effective test solutions for the manufacturing process (from circuit board to system level solutions)
- To take a lead role on specific projects and at times being responsible for coordinating a small group of Test Engineers.
- Experience in testing within a manufacturing environment
- Educated to Degree / HND or HNC in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
- Background knowledge of analogue, digital and RF electronics
- Skilled in fault diagnosis to component level utilising basic test instruments
- Confidently test safely

- Able to travel occasionally for training or to customer sites

- Ability to design, develop and build bespoke test circuitry
- An understanding of PCA manufacturing (Surface mount & plated through hole)
