Purchasing & Planning Assistant role available for a leading manufacturing company based in Salisbury to work part time hours.
This Purchasing & Planning Assistant position is a Temporary to permanent opportunity paying £13.84 per hour. There is flexibility around working hours although the preference is 5 days a week on site in Salisbury.
As a Purchasing & Planning Assistant you will be working in a small team reporting to the Purchasing and Planning Manager with the following responsibilities

As a Purchasing & Planning Assistant you will be working in a small team reporting to the Purchasing and Planning Manager with the following responsibilities
- Raise and process purchase orders in line with production and inventory requirements.
- Liase with suppliers to confirm pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor and update order statuses, ensuring timely delivery of goods and materials to achieve customer requirements/demands.
- Monitor and report overdue purchase orders.
- Support the Planning Team where required (Schedule Inputting, Work order raising, work order issuing, transport booking, invoicing)
- Track inventory levels and flag shortages or overstock situations to relevant teams.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (Stores, Production, Planning) to coordinate material flow.
- Assist in resolving supplier issues such as delays, discrepancies or quality concerns (With support of Stores / Quality teams)
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier communications and stock data.
- Use Microsoft Excel and internal systems to analyse data and support Purchasing / Planning decisions.
- Support continuous improvement activities within the Purchasing & Planning team.
We are looking to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Previous Purchasing / Planning experience (Preferably in Manufacturing environment) – not essential
- Good communications skills both internally and externally
- Capable of working alone when required but also able to perform well within a small team.
- Strong organisational skills
