Meridian Business Support are recruiting for a Porter for their prestigious client based in Derby.
The role is working Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 5:00pm (including a one-hour lunch break). The individual must be fully trained in manual handling and a valid and up to date DBS check is desirable. The primary responsibilities of the role include:
The role is to start Temporary with a pay rate of £12.98 and training can be given upon starting.

- Perform porterage duties, including setting up rooms for lectures, meetings, events, room moves, and the movement of furniture, equipment, and materials across campus.
- Receive, dispatch, and deliver mail, parcels, stationery, and goods between campuses, including covering post rounds and post room duties when required.
- Accurately complete delivery documentation, asset logs, mail tracking records, and electronic systems to meet audit, security, and accountability requirements.
- Handle sensitive, fragile, confidential, or high-value items in line with manual handling procedures and security protocols.
- Work flexibly across the Estate Management department, acting as relief Porter on any University site and adjusting working hours or duties to meet operational needs.
- Support the University’s commitment to health and safety, sustainability, and a safe, welcoming environment for all staff, students, and visitors.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the line manager.
