I am currently recruiting for an experienced Care Home Unit Manager to join a well-established care home in Watton, Norfolk. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically strong and motivated Nurse Leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding, person-centred care and supporting the development of a high-performing clinical team.

Working closely with the Home Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of the home, ensuring the highest standards of nursing and care delivery for residents.

The Role As Care Home Unit Manager, you will:
  • Support the Home Manager in the overall clinical and operational management of the home
  • Develop and implement effective clinical governance policies in line with NICE guidelines, NMC standards, and all regulatory requirements
  • Lead, mentor and coach nurses and carers to ensure best practice in medication administration, wound care and ongoing resident assessments
  • Ensure care plans and clinical records are accurate, up to date and fully reflective of residents’ needs
  • Monitor and review clinical standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes
  • Act as a visible clinical role model, promoting excellence in person-centred care
  • Foster a positive, supportive and engaging working environment for all staff
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strong clinical expertise and the ability to inspire and develop others.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • NMC registration with relevant post-registration experience
  • Proven experience as a Nurse Manager or in a similar clinical leadership role within the care sector
  • Strong clinical skills with a clear focus on person-centred care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A supportive leadership style with strong coaching and mentoring ability
  • The ability to prioritise effectively and perform well under pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good IT skills and experience maintaining electronic care records
