Meridian Business Support is currently recruiting for a Maths Lecturer to work in a Cambridge based college.
The primary purpose of this job role is to:
Provide high quality teaching and access to learning. It is expected that the post holder will contribute to course design, development of programmes and the expansion of the area generally.
To teach GCSE Maths/Functional Skills Maths to learners from Entry Level to Level 2 within the College.

To teach GCSE Maths/Functional Skills Maths to learners from Entry Level to Level 2 within the College.
The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job role are to;
- Deliver high quality teaching and learning to a timetable that may include evening, Saturday and non- term times.
- Deliver inspirational teaching and access to learning across a range of programmes.
- Provide teaching and assessment opportunities in line with the relevant awarding body requirements to promote access to achievement.
- Prepare and adapt teaching materials including handouts, assignments, booklists and assessment papers, to enable all learners to progress.
- Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
- Undertake the necessary administrative tasks required for the effective operation of programmes in the area
- Carry out moderation/ assessment and verification.
- Contribute to the College quality cycle
- Work with colleagues to integrate Functional Skills into the vocational curriculum
- Interview and assess students, ensuring appropriate ILPs are developed for all learners
- Meet study support procedures and ensure all CRC study support paperwork is completed accurately, timely and returned to MIS for audit and funding claims.
- Hold English and Maths GCSE or equivalent, grade C or above and have a Teaching qualification or willing to work towards.
- Ideally have a level 5 Diploma in Education and Training incl. a specialist pathway or equivalent, or willing to work towards.
- Experience of teaching Mathematics/Functional Skills/GCSE students across a broad range of levels
- Experience of preparing students for Functional Skills / GCSE exams
- Experience of delivering embedded literacy/numeracy courses.
- Prepared to work days, evenings or weekends.
- Willingness and ability to travel independently and teach classes across the geographic area covered by the College.
- Strong inter-personal skills
