Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
Location: Ystrad Mynach
Salary: £48,500
Shifts: 4 shift pattern (2 days/2 nights) of 12 hour shifts (no saturday nights working)
Main Purpose: The primary role of the Maintenance Technician is to conduct day-to-day maintenance activities on all manufacturing and packaging equipment, as directed by the Maintenance Team Leader, ensuring adherence to business requirements.

Main Purpose: The primary role of the Maintenance Technician is to conduct day-to-day maintenance activities on all manufacturing and packaging equipment, as directed by the Maintenance Team Leader, ensuring adherence to business requirements.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Complete all equipment preventive maintenance tasks on time, ensuring 100% machine availability for the shift.
- Resolve equipment breakdowns promptly and efficiently, returning them to production complete and tested.
- Conduct maintenance activities in compliance with company quality policies and site SOPs.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are performed safely, following all Safety, Health, and Environment procedures.
- Maintain a tidy and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.
- Undergo full training to fulfill all aspects of the role.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and setup of Manufacturing, Packaging, and Warehousing equipment.
- Maintain shift OEE logs.
- Proactively address frequent production issues.
- Implement modern maintenance techniques to drive improvements.
- Participate in daily maintenance shift handover meetings.
- Receive training in all equipment maintenance activities.
- Train on all maintenance section-related SOPs.
- Engage in maintenance section 5S activities.
- Assist in the development of Engineering stores and the implementation of new procedures and systems.
- Provide technical equipment/process support to project teams as needed.
- Offer technical support to project teams during the FAT stage of equipment purchase, including executing SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ documentation.
- Support Technical and Operations staff in implementing and driving process improvement actions.
- Aid in the development of equipment/process documentation and protocols.
- Assist in creating Maintenance-related SOPs for new equipment purchases.
- Proficient maintenance technician across all functions.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.

- Minimum ONC or above in an electrical or mechanical-related subject.
- Experience with PLC and servo-driven production and manufacturing machinery.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a highly regulated GMP environment.
- Basic understanding of "6 Sigma" problem-solving techniques.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an automated production environment.
