I’m recruiting for a Health, Safety and Compliance Manager to join a well-established college in Manchester. This is a key role responsible for creating and maintaining a safe environment for staff, students, visitors, and contractors, while managing the college’s soft facilities.

The successful candidate will implement a sensible, risk-based approach to health and safety management. The focus will be on promoting risk awareness rather than unnecessary risk avoidance, ensuring that the college maintains a safe and compliant learning environment. You will also manage soft facilities services across the college.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe environment for staff, students, visitors, and contractors
- Implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures
- Take a reasonable, proportionate approach to risk management
- Promote risk awareness and a safety culture across the college
- Oversee soft facilities management, ensuring services meet operational standards
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation and college policies
- Working towards the NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- Recognised Health and Safety qualifications
- Qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience in managing compliance and facilities in an educational or similar environment is desirable
- Salary £36,515 – £40,236 per annum
