My client, a well established and successful roofing company are currently on the lookout for an estimator with roofing experience based in Teesside are currently on the looking out for an estimator with flat roofing experience.

The Role
- Manage the tender/quotation process from initial enquiry to submission with a high degree of success in winning profitable business.
- Produce clear & accurate tenders/quotations, programmes of work, payment applications & accurate project cost analysis records.
- Support project management throughout delivery.
- Populating bills of quantities and producing take offs.
- Develop both product and service knowledge to represent the company to the highest of standards.
- Working closely with Contracts, Commercial & Office departments throughout.
Generate new clients, as well as managing the existing client base.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Estimating contract opportunities at all values and from a variety of client types including private developers, house builders, local authorities, government departments and domestic clients etc.
- Ensuring the quotations allocated are completed to a high standard in a manner that optimises profitability.
- Proactively seeking feedback on tenders and quotations submitted to ensure market position is assessed on a continual basis.
- Undertake site surveys when required to ensure accurate information is collated about new opportunities.
- Engaging with site surveyors and engineers to ensure they capture the correct information for estimating opportunities.
- Understanding H&S legislation and ensuring these are accommodated for within your priced opportunities.
- Maintaining clear and concise workings to ensure a smooth transition to our contract management team.
- Provide support to contract management teams in delivering their instructed works.
- Provide technical roofing expertise to the contract management team.
- Engage with suppliers to ensure product knowledge is constantly evolving and to build new relationships.
- Meeting and interacting with clients and building up strong relationships.
- Industry experience in a flat roofing role.
- Experience working in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the roofing industry.
- Experience of typical processes and procedures within the construction sector.
- High level of IT literacy - must have a sound knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook. Must be able to adapt to new systems including those used for job costing and estimation.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Minimum higher education – HNC / BA Degree (industry experience will be considered).
- Holder of current SMSTS qualification.
