About the Role We are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a specialist care service supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. This is a key leadership role, working closely with the Home Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the service and the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
You will take responsibility for overseeing care staff, maintaining compliance standards, and ensuring each individual receives tailored support in line with their care plans. In the absence of the Home Manager, you will assume full responsibility for the service.
The service operates a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model, focusing on promoting independence, choice, dignity, and inclusion while proactively reducing behaviours of distress through understanding and person-centred approaches.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager with daily operational management and deputise in their absence
- Lead, supervise, and support care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and daily documentation are accurate and up to date
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing and adapt care approaches where required
- Oversee medication management in line with policies and procedures
- Carry out staff supervisions, appraisals, and ongoing development
- Act as safeguarding lead in the absence of the Home Manager
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, health and safety, and infection control standards
- Maintain strong communication with families, professionals, and external agencies
- Promote engagement, independence, and meaningful activities for residents
- Previous experience as a Deputy Home Manager or strong senior care leadership experience
- Good working knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory requirements
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or complex needs
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and reporting procedures
- Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A person-centred approach with a genuine passion for quality care
