Job Title: Deputy Manager – Specialist Services
Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum (DOE)
We are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a specialist care service in Great Yarmouth. This is a key leadership role supporting the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.
The service operates using a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model, focusing on promoting independence, choice, inclusion and quality of life for all residents.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager in the overall operation of the service
- Lead, supervise and support care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
- Take responsibility for the service in the absence of the Home Manager
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing and ensure care plans are accurate and up to date
- Support medication management and care documentation
- Conduct staff supervision, appraisals and ongoing development
- Act as safeguarding lead in the absence of the Home Manager
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards, health and safety and infection control requirements
- Build strong relationships with residents, families and external professionals
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment and encourage resident engagement and independence
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager within a residential care setting
- Strong understanding of learning disabilities and complex care needs
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches (desirable)
- Good understanding of CQC standards and regulatory compliance
- Experience in staff supervision, development and performance management
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams
- £32,000 – £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
