The role:
As a Dementia Lead Nurse, you will lead from the front, ensuring high standards of care whilst supporting and developing your team. You will:
- Oversee the day-to-day running of a dementia care unit, ensuring safe and effective service delivery
- Leadership role within a well-supported dementia unit
- Hands-on care with real impact on residents’ quality of life
- Plan, implement and evaluate person-centred care for residents with complex needs
- Administer medication safely and maintain accurate electronic care records
- Carry out risk assessments, audits, and care reviews in line with compliance standards
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Lead, mentor and support care staff through supervision and appraisals
Skills and experience required:
- Active NMC registration (RGN or RMN) with a valid PIN
- Experience in dementia care, ideally in a senior or unit manager capacity
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- A positive, adaptable approach with a focus on high-quality care
