Credit Controller – Manchester (Office Based)
Salary: £29,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday–Friday (8am–4pm)

A great opportunity has become available for a Credit Controller to join a well-established finance team in Manchester. This position is fully office based and involves managing the credit function end-to-end, ensuring accurate ledger maintenance and supporting the smooth flow of incoming payments.

About the Role
In this role, you will oversee the daily activity of the sales ledger, making sure that all income is recorded correctly and on time. You’ll monitor outstanding balances, investigate issues, and work closely with customers to resolve delays. You’ll also collaborate with internal departments to keep information accurate and ensure the finance function runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
• Process sales information and issue invoices promptly
• Maintain customer accounts by posting and matching incoming payments
• Reconcile bank transactions across multiple currency accounts on a daily basis
• Follow up on overdue payments and maintain strong debtor control
• Handle customer queries professionally and provide any required supporting documents
• Create and update customer records as needed
• Carry out credit checks and monitor account risk
• Produce proforma invoices when required
• Manage invoice uploads through customer online platforms
• Work with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and report on outstanding matters
• Issue credit notes once problems have been fully addressed
• Send monthly account statements to customers
• Provide occasional cover for colleagues within the finance team
• Assist with general tasks and any additional finance duties

What We’re Looking For
• Previous experience in credit control or a finance admin role
• Strong accuracy, organisation, and numeracy skills
• Confident communicator with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable using finance systems and Excel
