Salary: £105,000 – £139,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Are you a dedicated and forward-thinking Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine? This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing critical care team at one of the Midlands’ most respected NHS Trusts, based in Burton.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive environment that champions clinical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.

About the Role: As a Consultant in Intensive Care, you will:
  • Deliver expert care across a 9-bedded critical care unit serving a busy district general hospital
  • Lead on the management of complex critically ill patients, including those requiring advanced organ support
  • Contribute to the delivery of 24/7 consultant-led critical care services, including a full-shift pattern and out-of-hours cover
  • Work closely with Anaesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, and Medical specialties to provide seamless integrated care
  • Engage in clinical governance, audit, and service development initiatives
  • Support the education, training, and supervision of junior doctors and wider MDT colleagues
What We’re Looking For:
  • Full GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register for Intensive Care Medicine (or within 6 months of CCT)
  • Dual accreditation with Anaesthesia or another relevant specialty is welcome but not essential
  • Extensive experience managing Level 2 and 3 patients, including emergency admissions and post-operative care
  • Strong team-working, leadership, and communication skills
  • A passion for delivering high-quality, safe, and compassionate care
