Cherry Grading Machine Operative – Seasonal Role- Location: Ledbury/Newent

In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining cherry grading machinery, ensuring the high quality and safety standards are met. You’ll play a key part in the smooth running of the packhouse operations, working closely with various departments to deliver top-quality products to our customers.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Setting up and operating grading and packing machinery
- Monitoring machine output and maintaining product quality
- Carrying out minor troubleshooting and quick label changes
- Keeping work areas clean, safe, and hazard-free
- Supporting and training junior machine operatives
- Collaborating with teams across operations, QC, and dispatch
- Recording downtime and machine performance data accurately
- Proven experience operating machinery, ideally in a fresh produce packing environment.
- Previous experience working in a packhouse as a Line Leader or Machine Operator is highly desirable.
- Competent in machine setup, operation, and basic maintenance tasks, including cleaning and maintaining the machinery to hygiene and safety standards.
- Strong practical skills, with a high level of common sense and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to multitask and stay organised in a busy environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Certified (or willing to be trained) to operate a metal detector
