Caretaker
Responsible to: Headteacher / Designated Line Manager
Responsible for: The general care, security, cleanliness and maintenance of the school premises and grounds
Hours of Duty: As determined by the needs of the school
DBS Disclosure Level: Enhanced
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 10am-6pm (term time)/8am-4pm (non term/holiday period).
Rate of pay: £13.70-£13.92
Ensure the school premises, buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment are maintained in a safe, secure, clean and suitable condition for pupils, staff and visitors.
The postholder will support the effective day-to-day operation of the school by carrying out caretaking, security, maintenance and site-related duties as required.

Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Caretaker will:
- Ensure the school premises and grounds are maintained in a safe, secure and orderly condition.
- Remove waste of bins.
- Carry out routine caretaking, maintenance and minor repair duties.
- Undertake opening and closing procedures for the school premises as required.
- Monitor access to the school premises and challenge or report unauthorised access where appropriate.
- Assist with the setting up and clearing away of rooms, furniture and equipment for school activities and events.
- Carry out regular checks of the premises and grounds and report any issues requiring attention.
- Support the school in maintaining a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
- Comply with the school's health and safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Use equipment, tools and materials safely and appropriately.
- Undertake other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the post.
