There are a wide range of management roles in the hospitality industry, mostly concerned with organising the Front of House workforce and offering a higher level point of contact for customers with more complex enquiries or concerns. A restaurant might only have one manager on shift at any time, but larger establishments like hotels or stadiums will have numerous managers, both Front of House and Back of House, working together under a Duty Manager.

Hospitality Managers usually gain their positions after years of experience in the industry, working their way up the hospitality career ladder. Alternatively there are now Hospitality Management degrees that strive to teach everything an eager student needs to be successful in the hospitality industry. This course might include modules that cover the hospitality economy, hospitality marketing, food studies, people management, food & beverage management etc.
