Why work in Ashford?

Ashford is a town in Kent and in 2005 was voted the fourth-best place to live in the United Kingdom. Ashford has for centuries been a local communications hub for surrounding villages and has stood at the centre of five railway lines, the town is developing rapidly too, with new homes planned for urban areas such as Repton Park, Park Farm, Singleton and Chilmington, and planning permission granted for a new £25m college campus, a John Lewis At Home store and commercial quarter. Within the town there are some tourist attractions, among them being Ashford Borough Museum, Godinton House and Gardens and the Willesborough Windmill.

Ashford is on the M20 motorway which offers easy access to London, Maidstone and Folkestone, with junctions 9 and 10 serving Ashford. The A20 runs almost parallel with the motorway, and the A28 allows access to Canterbury and Tenterden. Also leaving Ashford are the A251 for Faversham and the A2070 for Romney Marsh and Hastings. The Ashford International station serves Eurostar trains on High Speed 1, with trains to London, Lille and Paris and connections to the rest of Europe as well as domestic services to Charing and Ramsgate. The National Cycle Network, a network of cycle routes in the United Kingdom, includes two routes through Ashford: NCR 17 and NCR 18.
