Senior Teaching Assistant to work in the Behaviour Support Unit required by prestigious local school.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Work as part of the pastoral team in the Behaviour Unit and in classrooms.
  • Implement agreed programmes with individuals or small groups.
  • Operate reward and sanction systems and work with pastoral staff on developing and implementing Pastoral Support Programmes.
  • Under direction of senior staff, communicate with parents and outside agencies as part of PSP delivery and school behaviour improvement strategies.
  • Participate in delivery of CPD to a range of teaching and non-teaching staff with regards to behaviour management.
  • Organise programmes of provision to be delivered by him/herself and LSAs specifically for identified SEMH students.
  • Provide support to students struggling to engage with classes and staff with the aim of re-engagement in class.
  • Provide a daily lunch time club/activity for vulnerable students and/or assist in general supervision of students at social times.
  • Maintain records and collect data relating to behaviour as directed.

  • Work with, guide and challenge identified students.
  • Work with students on an individual and group basis to contribute to more effective learning through improved behaviour and social skills.
  • Assist in the recording of behaviour incidents.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level with experience of working with children and their families with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

This is a rewarding role with future prospects. Working 33 hours per week term time only, this is an immediate start and interviews will be the first week of the New Year.
