We are seeking an individual with a passion for quality to join a dynamic and innovative manufacturing company based in Taunton. If you are an experienced QA Engineer looking for the next step in your career this could be a great role for you.
This role will be paramount in the continued development and improvement of the company's quality department. If successful you will be working closely with the QA Manager to establish and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and undertaking root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive action for process related issues. You will be a key contact for other staff in the organisation for training on both quality awareness and also training them to use the various devices for mechanical and optical measurements. You will be using lean manufacturing methodologies to to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the QMS by undertaking continuous improvement activities. You will be responsible for undertaking the programming, running and analysis of the data produced by the CMM. Creating Quality documents and undertaking audits will also be part of your role.
We need a self-motivated, dynamic individual with good attention to detail and dexterity skills, who can coordinate, communicate and work well as part of a team for this role. As the role will involve large amounts of data manipulation good IT skills are essential. You will need an excellent understanding of process/change techniques and previous optical experience would be an advantage but is not essential. You will need to have worked within CI/Metrology disciplines and be working with process mapping and change management ideally with formal qualifications in lean/ 6 sigma disciplines. Good GCSE grades in Maths and Science and essential as are MS word, excel, outlook, CMM programming and other engineering related computer skills.
