Project Manager - major loss refurbishment projects
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated; office based Project Manager for a permanent role with our client based on the outskirts of Taunton. The role will involve managing competitive tenders following client enquiries. You will become part of the existing Tenders/Pricing Team managing caseloads, resulting in successful tenders.
Job role and responsibilities
The Project Manager / Tender Manager will be part of the team who put together tenders in response to client enquiries and leading the tender process as well as managing the resulting work gained from successful tenders.
You will be a point of expertise and reference for the Complex Major Loss team and will provide high levels of customer service to ensure claims are processed within agreed SLAs. You will also be expected to ensure that all aspects of the tender and pricing process are carried out following the correct procedures and guidelines.
The projects involved could include small domestic repaid or refurbishments or large full scale rebuilds, the value of these projects can range from anything up to £500k and as part of the role you will be liaising with Loss Adjusters, contractors, surveyors and clients.
The role will involve providing details of works requirements to a bank of contractors prior to tender submissions, as well as following up to check potential contractor's rates and making decisions on margins and costs before submitting the tender to clients. You will then be responsible for monitoring the project to account for any changes in timing, budget or potential variations from the original agreement.
Successful candidates will need to be able to show experience in competitive tender/pricing submissions as well as knowledge of the buildings contracts, Health and Safety legislation and standard measurement methods, preferably with previous or working towards construction based qualifications. You will need an ability to build strong working relationships as well as excellent attention to detail and accuracy alongside negotiation and communication skills.
Starting Salary of £20,000 - £25,000 with an excellent benefits package along with the opportunity for career progression with a company who values their employees.
