We are seeking an ambitious and capable Mechanical Engineer to join a fantastic Global firm in a varied and exciting position.
Whether you are an experienced Project Engineer, a Mechanical Design Engineer with a keen interest in Project Engineering, a Graduate Mechanical Engineer with a couple of years of experience in an Engineering role and the capability to learn and develop or a time-served Engineer, this position could be a great next step for you.
This role has arisen due to an internal promotion and offers you the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide variety of sectors and be involved in a great number of interesting projects. In brief, this is a fast paced, exciting and demanding position that will develop your skill set and offer you a varied workload in a collaborative and supportive environment and with a company who take great pride in their products, employees and customer service.
Working within a team of 10 Engineers who all have long service with the company, you will receive 18 months of intense training on the company's product base and customer base/target markets, allowing you to gain all the knowledge you require to complete your role to the best of your ability and become fully immersed in the business.
You will work closely with both the design team and the local manufacturing site to provide detailed support for complex packaged solutions and contracts, form initial enquiry through to installation and commissioning - ensuring your assigned projects are delivered in time and on budget.
As well as working on UK-based projects, you will also collaborate with the Global partners to also provide input into projects of larger scale/geographical reach.
You will provide appropriate responses to technical and commercial enquiries, carry out contract reviews, order processing and progress reports, complete and issue technical documentation and cover all other aspects associated to managing an engineering project.
You will vet orders, attend customer sites and meet with external suppliers, giving sound technical advice and and taking into account relevant legislation and regulations.
Key Skills/Experience required:
- Mechanical Engineering experience -Ideally within a design or project based engineering role
- A positive attitude to, and aptitude for learning
- Strong interpersonal and decision making skills
- Commercial experience in a highly regulated Industry, such as Aerospace, Automotive, Pharmaceutical or Oil and Gas
- Project Management skills
- Relevant qualification, apprenticeship or time-served in a relevant role and industry
- A genuine desire to work in a varied and demanding (but exciting) position - working effectively under pressure
