Meridian Business Support are currently recruiting for one of our clients based in West Yorkshire, for a permanent Project Engineer. This role is working in industrial markets and will mainly be office based with willing to work on site, and/or abroad if required. This role is £35-£40k per annum where you will have access to the company pension plus holidays.
You will be responsible for providing technical leadership to the electricians and apprentices who perform the organisation's core activities and services.
Commercially aware, you will look to development business, prepare quotations for work and plan/project manage electrical engineering projects through to completion.
Work within a multi-disciplinary project team to identify customer needs.
Design appropriate systems and products, reading design specifications and technical drawings.
Research suitable solutions and estimate cost and timescales using appropriate software.
Set out jobs from drawings and specifications and requisition the necessary installation materials.
Manage all necessary installation, commissioning and supporting documentation.
Work to British, European and other standards as required.
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed to specific timescales and costs.
Attend meetings on site and complete on site Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Record, analyse and interpret test data.
Propose modifications and retesting products as required.
Attend regular Management meetings and if required, prepare 'work in progress' reports.
Attend client functions and networking events to promote further business.
Effective Management of client accounts, encouraging repeat business and customer satisfaction.
Be commercially aware and able to follow up business leads effectively and quickly.

Essential Qualifications/Skills Required
Hold a valid, appropriate UK driving licence.
IT literate, competent with all Microsoft Office applications.
Possess excellent planning and organisational skills to aid time and resource allocation.
Have undergone an Apprenticeship or equivalent training and had practical training in electrical installation work.
Hold Level 3 NVQ Electrotechnical Services qualification or equivalent.
Hold Level 3 Certificate of Electrical Installations (inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations) or equivalent. 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
Obtained Achievement Measurement 2 qualification (AM2)
Have thorough working knowledge of the National Working Rules for the Electrical Contracting Industry, the current IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 and Construction Industry Safety Regulations.
Have knowledge of the most economical and effective layout of electrical installations.
Demonstrate competence in Inspection & Testing; City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent.
Demonstrate experience in completion of Risk Assessments.
Experience in Industrial markets/organisations.
Have proven supervisory skills in order to support the field engineers with their requirements to complete projects.
Desirable Qualifications/Skills Required
Experience with Construction Manager and EES data electrical estimating software.
Experience in design/installation of control panels and motor drives.
Experience using AUTOCAD software.
Experience in implementing or using other Management software such as PDA's or Real Time work flow systems.
IOSH Health and Safety qualifications.
City & Guilds 2400 Design, Erection & Verification of electrical Installation Level 4 or equivalent
Project Management qualification.
Experience in Commercial markets/organisations.
