Meridian Business Support are looking to recruit a confident, technically minded "Production Manager" with a strong and proven track record in project management in a fast moving factory production environment. Our client has installed product on a global scale in numerous leisure and educational facilities including Children's Play Centres, Shopping Centres and Malls, Theme Parks, Leisure Centres, Garden Centres, Holiday Complexes, Hotels, Airport Terminals, Cruise Liners, Ski Centres, Nurseries, Schools.

The individual will be able to demonstrate great organisational and problem solving abilities while ensuring a 360 degree communication loop is ever present.

The production manager will work well as part of both a management and shop floor team and be able to demonstrate quality interpersonal skills. The Production manager Managers must also be able to handle responsibility and the pressure of meeting deadlines with a high level of demonstrable IT and numerical skills.

Some of the main responsibilities are as follows:-

  • Planning and organising production schedules
  • Assessing project and resources requirements
  • Estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients and managers
  • Determining quality control standards
  • Overseeing production processes
  • Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary
  • Selecting, ordering and purchasing materials
  • Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
  • Liaison with buyers, marketing and sales staff
  • Supervising the work of junior staff / Management of shop-floor staff
  • Recruitment / HR
  • Spec preparation of incoming orders
  • Internal system management
  • Monitoring production through factory to ensure on time delivery
  • Maintaining and controlling stock levels
  • Assisting with report writing and queries
  • Production analysis, KPI measurements & progress updates in regards to SLA deliveries
  • Liaising with Directors & other managers & overseeing inter-departmental communication

The ideal candidate will have the following skills / Qualification:

  • Experience in the same or similar role
  • Proven history of staff management
  • Team player
  • Excellent admin skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer care skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadline
  • Excellent PC skills especially in MS Excel
  • First Aid Qualification
  • Forklift Truck License
  • H&S certification
