Our client requires a procurement officer to lead the tendering process for a number of high value projects across the Trusts directorates and stakeholders that will result in the successful purchase of goods and services. Assess customers requirements, identify appropriate suppliers, analyses financial and purchasing data for tenders and quotations and options for purchases and contract awards. Become fully conversant with Trust SFI's, operational policies and procedures and appropriate legislation to ensure all purchases comply with relevant guidance.

The role with include:-

Support the Contract and Processing Manager to work with the Heads of Procurement and Supplies to maximise the issuing of tenders both under and over the EU threshold.

Undertake lead role for Contract Management for all relevant strategic contracts.

Identifying requests that require formal quotes and tenders, once identified, undertake this activity.

Act as focal point for customer queries relating to status of tenders for defined areas of responsibility; this will also involve attendance at meetings.

The Contracts Officer will provide support and guidance, acting as a mentor at all times to the Contracts Support Officer.

Bring to the attention of senior staff any problems or potential problems relating to requisitions, quotations or tenders, for the defined areas of responsibility.

Promote VFM.

To be fully conversant with Trust SFI's, SO and relevant legislation, policies and procedure

Responsible for managing and updating all information relating to projects, and updating the centralised contracts database as required.

Provide cover to other defined areas of responsibility in the event of staff sickness and absence.

Bring any suggestions that may improve the existing method of operation to senior staff in order that it may be considered.

Demonstrate commitment to IWL principles and flexible working patterns, to meet the needs of the service and staff.

Tackle discrimination and harassment, and promote equality and diversity in the workplace.

Reduce sickness absence; work place accidents; and promote zero tolerance on violence against staff.

Take a proactive responsibility for personal development and education and the development of a Personal Development Plan.

Play a key role in supporting the Organisations Continuous Improvement Culture
