We are seeking a creative PR professional to join a small, in-house marketing and communications team in Taunton until the end of January 2018. This will be a busy and varied part time position where you will cover a wide variety of tasks including developing and maintaining a wide range of media contacts, regularly communicating with journalists, writing press releases and statements and developing PR and media strategies.
We are looking for someone who can communicate messages through media relations, customer stories and corporate communications activity effectively. You will need substantial experience in a media or PR capacity with proven experience of gaining media coverage. Ideally candidates will hold a degree level qualification in journalism/ PR/ Marketing or equivalent. You will have a thorough understanding of media requirements and experience of handling negative media enquiries or crisis communications. The role will suit you if you are keen to join a company with a strong social purpose and use your communications skills to help inspire people to develop their potential. Flexible working hours are available to ensure you maintain a home/work balance. The salary is £15,000 per annum based on 25 hours per week (£21,600) FTE.
