Are you an Operations Manager with strong people management skills and proven success of building a facility from grounds roots up? We have an exciting opportunity to join an awarding winning global organisation who supply heavy construction equipment industry at their site in Cheadle as an Operations Manager. Salary £35-45k dependent on experience plus excellent benefits working 8am-5pm Mon-Thu, finishing at 1pm on Fridays!
As Operations Manager you will report into the Commercial Director who is based at another site so you will have the ability to run the site with limited support. Managing the warehouse facility for our client, you will be responsible for 8 staff initially, which will increase as their biggest customer is due to grow by 20% YOY.
You will develop and implement an operational strategy, manage performance of the site, ensure quality, warehousing and line feeding activities are effectively managed by supervisors, manage stock levels and accuracy, ensure facilities and equipment are serviced/ repaired. You will need excellent analytical skills to produce and manage monthly reports of business and departmental performance to targets.
Proven experience at Operations Manager level is required from a FMCG manufacturing background, with a firm approach to people management, excellent knowledge of logistics and distribution, and the ability to manage change are all key factors for this role. Any experience in relocation of warehouses/ layout with lean manufacturing processes would be advantageous. You must have managed a successful logistics operation with limited support. Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite as you will be first point of contact for customers.
