Meridian are looking for a mechanical project engineer / contracts manager to join a client who is a well known in the South West.
This position will involve managing multiple projects starting with your clients conception to completion and final hand over. You will be covering projects in the areas of Dorset to Hampshire but you will be based from their office in Ferndown. Works involved in these projects will be mechanical and so will range from pipework, HVAC, controls and gas & water services.
The ideal candidate will have great people management and client facing abilities as a large part of the position will be attending site and client meets for multiple projects. Whilst managing these projects and clients you must be able to stay within budget and adjust schedules accordingly to ensure your projects are delivered on time and to standard.
Financially you will be in control of the work programme, labour requirements, materials and any additional spend.
Technically you must be up to date and aware of current health & safety standards and be able to adjust, adapt and respond accordingly to an ever changing and challenging environment. It is also essential that you can work from drawings and are IT literate in Word, Excel and CAD.
This position is primarily office based so the ability to work within a team is essential. A full driving licence is also required due to attending site and client meetings.
