Our client based in Normanton is looking for a Team Leader to join their busy warehouse. The hours at 6am-6pm days.
Ÿ To ensure that the Health and Safety procedures are followed by all colleagues and visitors to the site.
Ÿ To keep and maintain accurate records for health and safety including safe systems of work, training records and agency induction.
Ÿ To assist security when doing end of shift searches, in being a witness and also be of support when required for random searches.
Ÿ Managing the activities and resources to achieve financial, operational and customer service objectives.
Ÿ To plan and manage the staffing levels, ordering or canceling agency staff when required to ensure optimum level of staffing is being used within budget. Also ensuring the oncoming shifts have sufficient staffing levels.
Ÿ To monitor levels of consumables and conveying this information to administration when supplies are low.
Ÿ To ensure equipment is operational and relevant checks are made and maintained. When problems arise, contacting the relevant contractors to resolve the issue.
Ÿ To ensure the AMP scheme is used to manage absence using disciplinary system where necessary up to and including the written warning stage. Also using return to work interviews to inform employees of what stage they are at and using this to be of assistance to employees.
Ÿ To assist in the recruitment, training and development of individuals and the team, using company procedures and in-house resources available.
Ÿ To conduct appraisals with employees and monitor performance giving feedback to individuals and the team where necessary to ensure efficient operation.
Ÿ To assist in the management productivity to achieve KPI's, changing priorities where necessary, and be proactive in looking for continuous improvements.
Ÿ To ensure company policies are adhered to and administration functions completed within deadlines and maintain accurate records in line with customer/company requirements.
Ÿ To promote harmonious and effective working relationships both internally and externally, ensuring excellent customer service through a combination of communication, team work, motivation and leadership.
Ÿ Communicating information to incoming team leaders to have an effective shift handover procedure. Also to communicate both upwards and downwards to enhance staff morale and understanding of business needs.
ŸTo ensure you have a full working knowledge of all operational systems and have the ability to help staff where necessary.
ŸTo seek and partake in opportunities to develop own capability and competence in the role.
