Lead Test Engineer
We are looking for a Test Engineer to join and lead my client's Test team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years relevant test experience with a degree in a relevant subject.
Manage the daily running of the Test team including test tasks delegated to teams outside of the Test Team.
Create and execute a comprehensive test plan and report progress in a clear and concise manner.
Take responsibility for the development and execution of software and hardware testing. Perform manual testing of software and hardware features under development and the application generally.
Work in partnership with the Development and Product Management teams to ensure product test coverage and risk assessments are being managed such that the product release quality meets my client's customer standards.
Communicate regularly with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Product Managers, Software and Hardware teams in order to have a thorough understanding of the immediate and future testing needs.
Understand the role of all tests including manual, automated and integration and their importance in achieving test coverage.
Manage the inventory of owned test equipment and ensure that the test volumes and associated equipment remain fit for purpose.
Requirements and qualifications
BSc required (graduate degree preferred) in Physical Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science or another directly related field.
EU citizen or have permanent residency status in the UK.
A positive attitude with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to assess the quality of software and hardware test coverage.
Ability to create and carry out concise but thorough tests.
Ability to successfully line manage, mentor and develop the Test team.
Good verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English.
