We are currently recruiting for an Import/ Export Clerk to join this expanding company in a newly created role based near Newcastle under Lyme, with distribution centres all over the UK and more to come, this is an exciting time to join this company. Our client is an award winning freight forwarder, and as Import/ Export Clerk in this brand new role you will develop relationships with customers and overseas agents and suppliers, plan European groupage trailers, arrange appropriate transport and provide delivery notes for use by transport and warehouse staff. You will also be responsible for the profit and loss on the service and have to comply with EU and UK regulations regarding import and export documentation.
Your ability to consolidate cargo in the UK along with your excellent knowledge on how to maximise trailer payloads will enable you to successfully load, plan and route trailers for cost effective groupage trailer planning.
With at least 2 years experience as an Import/ Export Clerk or similar you will have good knowledge of customs processes throughout Europe and documentation required. Strong Excel skills are required along with excellent communication skills as a high level of customer service is expected in this role.
This role would suit an Import Clerk, Export Clerk, Logistics Controller, Shipping Administrator, Transport Coordinator, Air Freight Operator, Freight Coordinator or similar.
