This regional civil engineering contractor has developed a long lasting reputation for the quality of work it completes and the services it provides. They have become a very well respected brand working in the highways and infrastructure sectors. Having already secured a number of high profile schemes, a number of new projects have now been awarded by their existing clients, on top of an already full order book. Due to this continued growth there is a serious need to recruit a foreman leader to there site management teams.
Position: Foreman (highways)
To safely carry out repairs and improvements to a variety of built environment infrastructure such as modular paving, kerb installation, bituminous macadam laying, concreting, pipe laying, hard and soft landscaping including drainage repair, excavation and shoring.
To apply safe methods of working through the use of personal protective equipment, correct manual handling, use of small plant and equipment such as excavators, roller/breaker, compaction equipment, dumpers, motorised circular saws and other highways related equipment.
To apply and abide by Health & Safety at Work Act, Road Traffic Act and apply safe methods of working to all activities.
To drive a range of vehicles with a gross weight of up to and including 32 tonnes Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) which could also include tractors, tippers, HIAB crane, tail lift, platform, pick ups and transit vans.
To understand and follow procedures relating to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
