  • A Desk Estimator to join a market leading Facilities company. Duties will include interpreting customers' requirements , plus quoting follow up works from reactive works Then estimate the cost of the project accordingly and submit on client portals. Ideally you come from a building fabric background or have worked as an Estimator with B&CE experience

  • Proven capability in estimating and winning quotations, Ideally has a background in small works and experience of cost planning and management from Quotation identification through to project delivery
  • Will be fully conversant with the competitive marketplace. Sound commercial understanding, and risk management skills. Have the ability to cost and estimate in a fast paced work environment
  • The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work accurately to deadlines, the ability to multi-task, be highly motivated and must be able to work using their own initiative.
  • Perform analysis of cost estimates; perform comparisons of scope, quantities and cost data between estimates and develop on an ongoing best practice solution.
  • Review of designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggestions for alternatives where applicable.
  • To manage the development of quotations with a high degree of commercial acumen.
  • Undertake risk analysis and identify of key risks and opportunities.
  • Critical evaluation of estimates and ability to proportion tender risks against competitive costs required to win quotations.
  • Be actively involved in all estimating and costing specific aspects of the quotation response.
  • High volume estimating and costing management - 5 per day average with an average value of between £100- £2000
  • Ensure quotation opportunities are developed, produced and submitted on time and are fully compliant with customer requirements to maximise chance of success.
  • Develop understanding of the technical requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance processes.
  • Manage/co-ordinate costing support activities, such as supply chain development, in line with planned solutions.
  • Be aware of best practice and innovation to assist solution development where appropriate.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, internal and external, for key opportunities.
  • Contribute to the assessment and review process for potential new business opportunities and track learning outcomes from previously submitted bids.
  • Be comfortable in uploading to client web based portals
