You will be responsible for reviewing designs/customer orders and compiling relevant test specifications to cover all product requirements and relevant regulatory standards. Once confident of these, you will go to market for subcontractors suitable to complete the testing (there is no test facility on site) and secure services. Upon return of results, you will review and either advise design and technical teams of adjustments required or sign off.
You will generate process, product and profit improvement ideas and the business cases to support these.
You will apply your specialised technical judgement to design issues that may arise from NPI projects and continuously generate ideas for applying new technologies and techniques in process to enhance performance, quality and profitability.
Relevant Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree/HNC/HND in Electro-mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Problem solving abilities with 8D or equivalent methodology
- Demonstrable experience in process engineering
- Involvement in medium and large capital test rig and assembly process projects
- Wireless networks and electronic component and assembly design and trouble shooting
- Working knowledge of SQL databases and C++ programming language
- Root cause analysis
- Report writing
- Team player
- Lateral and pragmatic thinker
