Our Tewkesbury-based client is seeking a personable and pro-active Credit Controller to join them for a period of approximately 5 months. The ideal candidate will have experience of a similar role, an empathetic, but firm nature and a diligent approach to associated administrative tasks. This is a full time, Monday-Friday temporary position that is to start ASAP and ideally candidates will be available with no more than one-week of notice.

Duties will include:

  • Generally assist and provide support for the Manager in the preparation of information, monitoring of agreements and production of arrears letters as required
  • To assist in the preparation of arrears summary statements as required
  • To assist with arrears enquiries in the office and by telephone as appropriate
  • To assist with the general administration of the department
  • To be responsible for recovery of all debts in accordance with the company's procedures including liaising with external agencies, such as the Debt Collection Agency, where appropriate
  • To arrange visits where necessary
  • Monitor terminations of contracts to ensure prompt action where there are monies outstanding
  • Complete reports recommending further action/write off
  • To prepare Notices of Intention to Seek Possession as required in line with the company's procedures
  • To appear in Court, on behalf of the company, in rent arrears hearings when requested to do so
  • To monitor Court Orders on a regular basis and recommend further action where appropriate
  • To complete arrears recommendations where the Manager is absent and arrange for visits where necessary to ensure that arrears letters are sent in line with the company's procedures
  • To manage telephone payments
  • Provide reporting systems to the Manager as required
  • Ensure that maximum effective use is made of information technology systems within the department
  • Ensure that the company's Equal Opportunities Policy is fully implemented at all times
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested

Skills/Experience required:

  • Experience of a similar role, or alternatively a customer service role that has required high levels of query resolution/problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good I.T skills, including accurate data entry
  • Empathetic, but firm manner
  • Positive, pro-active approach
  • Ability to deal with people at all levels
