Your role of Compliance Manager within this large manufacturing facility, who produce high quality furniture, will be to ensure that all industry standards, legal requirements and company policies are maintained and adhered to throughout the business. You will monitor standards, conduct audits and produce reports on the compliance and ethical efforts of the business and provide guidance for employees on matters relating to compliance.
Devise and establish and maintain compliance procedures, standards and specifications in conjunction with operational staff and in line with customer and legislative requirements.
Provide fully auditable and traceable systems to ensure compliance to the required legislation, customer requirement, Company policies, code of conduct, ethical and regulatory standards.
Identify opportunities to enhance business performance through continuous review and evaluation of the compliance requirements making recommendations and changes in process or practices within the business.
Implement required systems to any of the UK Manufacturing businesses in the group which require compliance to the specified legislation, customer requirement, Company policies, code of conduct, ethical and regulatory standards.
Where necessary this role will require travel to suppliers to carry out audits to ensure compliance to required declarations as specified by the Company Code of Conduct and Service Level Agreement stipulations.
Consult with legal professionals, industry experts and other professionals on compliance matters.
Monitor legislation changes throughout the calendar year and update business systems.
3 years of relevant compliance management within class leading business
GCSE/O Level English or equiv.
Degree Educated or equivalent compliance related qualifications or substantial industry experience
Manufacturing industry experience
Knowledge of: Retailer Audits; SEDEX and Ethical Trade Initiative; Health & Safety; Product Risk Assessments - FMEA (failure mode effect analysis); ISO 14001; ISO 18001 would be beneficial but not essential.
