Meridian health are currently recruiting for an Assistant to the Secretary within the public sector. The post holder will be responsible for leading and managing key projects on behalf of the Secretary. The role will involve provision of business management support to the Secretary, acting as the administrative interface between the Board, its sub-committees as well as assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of associated corporate governance processes. The post holder will provide a comprehensive committee administrative function involving: the co-ordination of timetables, forward work programmes, agenda and papers production, supporting and servicing committees by taking minutes and co-ordinating appropriate follow-up action. The post holder will support the Secretary in the development of revised governance structures and processes.
The post holder will be expected to use their initiative, analyse and precise documents or communications, some complex, and make judgement on action required. The post holder must be able to work unsupervised. The post holder will be required to communicate effectively and efficiently at all levels of internal management as well as with external parties/bodies, displaying a high level of tact and diplomacy at all times and processing sensitive information confidentially.
The post holder will be required to work flexible hours, and may be asked to visit different sites in order to meet the needs of the board.
