If so, our client offer an exciting opportunity to join them as an Assistant Material Planner. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity and you will join a pro-active team, who enjoy working collaboratively to ensure the planning and logistics department operates effectively, in line with business demands.

As Assistant Material Planner, you will be involved in the expediting of material to ensure a suitable flow of material to assist in the achievement of the shipment goals.

Reporting to the Planning and Logistics Manager, your daily responsibilities will be to liaise with the material planners, the master scheduler and the stores and dispatch supervisor to ensure the above is achieved.

You will be responsible for the progressing of all priority parts as directed by the Material Planners.

As Assistant Material Planner, you will receive a variety of reports from the in-house system and will report back to the relevant planner on a regular basis the status of each. If conflicts or delays are noted from these, you will refer them to the Master Scheduler for resolution.

Candidate profile/Skills experience required:

  • An understanding of MRP based activities/systems (or the ability to pick up systems and processes quickly and effectively)
  • Good I.T skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Logical and analytical mind, with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Formal training in production and inventory planning methods would be useful, but is not essential.
