We are currently recruiting for an experienced Account Handler to join the customer service team for a local insurance company based in Bridgwater. You will need excellent customer service and organisational skills and be experienced in building professional relationships with clients.

Personal Specification

  • Ideally, possessing a good educational background with good IT literacy and navigational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Organisational, time management and self-management skills.

  • Excellent telephone communication skills

  • Flexible attitude, good team player with a sense of humour and a highly developed sense of personal initiative.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Contact clients at policy renewal to conduct a full market review.

  • Processing appropriate paperwork to ensure completion in a timely manner.

  • Contacting and responding to telephone, email, internet, correspondence and facsimile new business leads, providing advice, quotations and recommendation of 'best advice' to the clients demands and needs.

  • Maintain the Client Management Database with accurate client data and considering any Data Protection issues.

  • Ensuring task lists are up to date and complete, requesting assistance where required

  • Responding to all correspondences in a timely and professional manner.

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the sales process and apply this in all sales related processes.

  • Consider all underwriting, regulatory and insurer requirements in all transactions.

  • Ensure Monthly and Annual targets are achieved

  • Assist the Internal Sales Team and Sales Manager to achieve the annual business plan.

  • Answering the telephone and managing queries, filtering to the appropriate personnel where necessary.

Salary is £17,000 per annum plus commission

The office is open Mon - Thurs 9am - 7.30pm

Friday 9am - 5pm

Sat 9am - 1pm

The successful candidate would be required to work 2 late shifts per week which would be 11.30-7.30, two day shifts 9-5 and one Saturday in 4.
