Our client, an international membership organisation, are seeking a Strategic Buyer on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract basis to lead the buying plan for products and services across the business.
As a Strategic Buyer, you will be able to hit the ground running in identifying and delivering cost opportunities across the business, through not just your strategic skills, but also building strong supplier and internal stakeholder relationships using adaptable communication skills and a collaborative approach.
This exciting new opportunity working as part of a friendly dynamic team will see you involved in complex purchasing activity (including pricing, negotiating terms, best practice, and contracts with suppliers); contract management; supplier selection, performance improvement and relationship management; and creating category/strategic sourcing plans.
Previous strategic supplier management and purchasing experience, and a passion and understanding of all aspects of purchasing are essential for this position - along with proven effective use of buying tools and negotiation techniques.
It would be desirable (not essential) for you to possess a related qualification such as a degree or MCIPS, have experience using SAP, or have knowledge of GDPR legislation.
Salary c. £40-45k p.a. depending on level of experience
