Senior Transport Planner - Tauranga, New Zealand

Tauranga is the largest city in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty region. It is also one of the fastest growing cities in New Zealand, sitting on the East coast of North Island. I haven't been, but I believe it's in the top 3 places to live in the world*

It looks like it is, anyway. A perfect balance of life, leisure and love with a growing business sector in a part of the world that has definitely shown the way on how to deal with the Global pandemic. You can be a part of this every day of your working life, and then you can go and watch dolphins off the coast drinking a rum and ginger ale or, if that isn't you're a bag perhaps a latte or a protein shake.

I am looking to get a number of Transport Planning people there ranging from Senior to Principal level grade.

I am working with the council. This is public sector and what a fantastic organisation to be a part of. Friendly, outgoing and with an absolute purpose to continue making this a wonderful place to live (and work). I am keen to speak to anyone who fits the brief below, but realistically you will already be in New Zealand or have no restrictions on making the move (you or your spouse is a Kiwi, or perhaps you are Australian and have the right to live and work in NZ already).

I am looking for a Senior Transport Planner with rounded transport planning expertise focused on public transport, integrated transport strategy, business case and policy.

This is a generalist role, but a very important important or exciting position. You will be working with key stakeholders across the region in helping advise on the future direction of the Transport Strategy, where investment should be prioritised and how to best deliver the transport strategy. You will have a wide knowledge of Transport Policy, Planning, Public Transport, Integrated Transport and Business Case planning. I may need two or three of these people, but I cannot consider people who do not have some kind of link to NZ. The borders are closed and I haven't yet discovered the vaccine. If I had, I wouldn't be writing this advert.

Please get in touch. You can reach me at fewing@meridianbs.co.uk or find me on LinkedIn and I will be happy to elaborate on these roles, the opportunity and how we can make this become a reality.
