Our business plays a key role in delivering the UK’s goals for secure, affordable and sustainable energy.  We are a not for profit organisation, searching for a Scheme Operations Manager to join our diverse team of people, who work together to deliver on two of the Governments electricity schemes.  The performance of the Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme is not measures against a bottom-line figure but against two key guiding principles; maintaining investors’ confidence and minimising cost to us as consumers.  As we strive for excellence you could be part of a team that delivers the UK’s net zero target.

As our Scheme Operations Manager, your role will be to take a bird’s eye view of how the scheme is operating and you will proactively support the Contracts Managers and wider business, by focusing on improving critical operational and compliance activities, seeking slicker more efficient ways of processing the administration of CfD’s.  You will work with a broad range of stakeholders both internal and external including the regulator Ofgem, National Grid and BEIS solving problems and manage a variety of tasks including metering operations, settlement sign off of calculations, the monitoring of data and forecasts, resolving any payment issues and preventing fraud. Therefore, attention to detail, a passion for compliance and operational excellence would be traits that suit this role well.

You will manage living documents where data is found live on the internet in connection with registers and guides linked to CfD’s, and if you have had any dealings in a previous role with either BEIS or Ofgem this could prove useful. Your ability to comprehend and explain and present complex technical data or financial information, and how you communicate with a range of stakeholders will be areas we would like you to demonstrate at interview.  We seek excellent efficiency and operational experience, with the ability to changing heavy administrative tasks into automated simplified processes.

We are looking for people who are excited by the clean energy agenda and are keen to work closely with Government, Electricity Generators and Suppliers to deliver insights and build industry confidence in a constantly changing regulatory environment.  In turn we offer an exciting opportunity to work in an organisation where people are integral to our success and where we encourage diversity and enjoy developing skill and talent.

The package includes a base salary of £50-55k per annum, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, 8% pension, life assurance, PHI and discretionary bonus of up to 10% which is finance and performance based.  Please note this position will be based in our new Canary Wharf office in 2021.
