An amazing opportunity for experienced Mechanical Engineers to represent this British Manufacturer of specialist vehicles, working on their Client's site in Germany. As V&V Manager you will manage a small team of 5 Contractors and take overall responsibility for the verification and validation of the project vehicle system.

Initially offered on a 1 year fixed term contract but with a strong possibility of either an extension or permanency thereafter. There would be a possibility for you to be based in Germany on a 9 on / 4 off working day rotation with travel and flights included in your package or for you to be based in Germany for the duration of the contract.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To plan and coordinate the verification and validation (V&V) of the project vehicle system against configured and contracted Systems Requirements
  • To create and maintain the overall project V&V plan
  • To coordinate, plan, execute and analyse the results of physical tests in accordance with the V&V plan, including instrumentation and data capture
  • To document and report the results of physical testing as evidence of compliance against contracted requirements
  • Secure and efficient management of V&V data
  • Holding and documenting root cause analysis of V&V issues and identifying effective engineering solutions
  • Ensure team members adhere to company procedures

Preferred Skills:

  • Vehicle systems design and assessment
  • Familiarity with MoD VVRM procedure
  • Managing staff
  • Experience of system design, function, evaluation and analysis including automotive systems, hydraulic systems and structures.
  • Verification of platform requirements through physical trials activity.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Use of MS Project
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels including suppliers and customers.
  • Generally computer literate and able to adapt to different software
  • Good report writing and project information recording
  • Able to produce system/product verification plans and procedures to allow detailed integration and verification testing of the developed system/product
  • Vehicle testing using data logging and other instrumentation.

Personal Attributes:

  • Facilitation of structured root cause analysis techniques in multidisciplinary team
  • Minimum first degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
  • Vehicle systems design and assessment
  • Proven experience of working in a Verification and Validation testing role
  • Security cleared to SC or above or capable of achieving this clearance
  • Approachable and dependable
  • Logical and thorough approach to record keeping
  • Drive to achieve quality in all that he/she does
  • Able to work effectively under pressure
  • Able to travel, live and work away from home for a prolonged period (up to 12 months) to a 9-day work pattern
