We have an exciting brand new role as a Product Development Manager working for an award winning timber manufacturer based in Saltney, Chester. Salary £35-45k per annum plus excellent benefits working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.
As Product Development Manager, reporting into the Strategy Manager, you will be leading and managing a growing team (currently 2 Designers), to deliver product designs that differentiate the company as the brand of choice for their high quality timber products within its target market.
With your expertise in applying user centric design (UCD) and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) you will bring the company vision to life to consistently improve product ranges and develop and effectively project manage innovative new products from concept to manufacture.
You will create and implement a realistic and achievable annual product design plan, present monthly reports of design activity and progress and work with marketing and sales to ensure design meet the needs of the target market but also stand out from the crowd! You will liase with manufacturers/ suppliers regarding prototyping and initial production set up.
It is essential you will proven experience of leading a product design team within a commercial setting with experience of product design from concept to manufacture. Strong knowledge of CAD design principles with excellent planning, project management and leadership skills are all required to be successful in this role. Knowledge of softwood timber products or garden/ leisure furniture is desirable.
You must be willing to travel overseas to meeting with suppliers (subject to Covid restrictions).
